5 Tips for Wedding Planning in the Midst of the COVID 19 Pandemic

A wedding ceremony over zoom? There’s been lots of creative suggestions on holding a wedding amidst the Covid-19 pandemic! It’s just inspiring to see how humanity is coping. (We especially love this NYC Covid love story!) As for us, we’ve been rescheduling events with our clients, in the hope that when all of this is over, they can have a wedding with a complete guest list and zero worries about handshakes and hugs.

If you’re in the middle of planning your wedding, it can be tricky, and you can even say disheartening, to do it at this time. Some would even say it’s actually out of place to think of weddings, or any celebration or gathering for that matter. But we get you. We know that a wedding isn’t JUST a thing that you shelf for better days. It holds a very special place in one’s heart. We hope you don’t feel guilty about feeling bad that you have to reschedule, especially if your date is significant to you as a couple.

If You’ve Already Booked a Date and you need to reschedule

Don’t cancel. It can be tempting to just throw everything out the window. What else is there to do anyway? Well, first is to embrace this truth: everything will go back to normal. To a new normal. Knowing this helps us get up every morning with a renewed hope. You can make this rescheduling work to your advantage.

Choose an off-peak date. When coming up with a new date, make a short list that prioritizes weekday dates towards the end of 2020, as weekends and hot dates are most likely booked by now.

Be honest and open with your suppliers. Your suppliers are on the same boat as you. If there’s anybody who understands you best, we think it’s us your wedding suppliers. Nobody likes what’s happening to our events, to your event. If there’s anything that might be bothering you right now about planning your wedding, tell us and we’ll listen. We might even be able to help you think of a solution or a workaround!

Prepare for possible additional charges. This is especially true for suppliers who incur costs upon booking, such as materials-sourcing, tasks such as planning and conceptualizing, and booking freelancers. If you’re having a destination wedding, your suppliers might need to rebook their flights & hotel. Also, they would have to cover for the multiple days that they refused bookings for your destination wedding.

RSVP. Inform your guests as early as possible that your wedding is postponed, regardless if you have a new date already or not. Let them know that you are still arranging a new date, and that you will get in touch with them as soon as you are able to lock the new date. Don’t forget to tell them to take care!

Revise your wedding. Before the lockdown, you may have already sealed the lid on your wedding planning and everything is ready to go. Now is the perfect time to open that lid again and discuss with your fiancé some things that you feel can be changed. Will your theme be really classic or boho? It’s a great time to get creative and get inspired to craft that wedding of your dreams that you haven’t had much time on. As long as they don’t compromise the contracts that you signed with your suppliers, go ahead and revise towards that wedding that is uniquely you and your love.

Get your craft on. You may have more time in your able hands right now, so why not use it for personalized, DIY details that would not only prettify your wedding but would also make you feel relaxed and happy? Pinterest and YouTube University is offering free courses for this!

Be flexible. Your suppliers want to accommodate you the best way they can. It’s best to keep an open mind and an open heart on things beyond your control. One thing that is within your control is your reaction. What if things don’t go your way? Keep your emotions in check, and remember you’re planning for the loveliest day of your life.

Limit your number of guests. Our main goal right now is to stay healthy & keep everyone safe.

We’re seeing intimate weddings as the new norm soon. In all honesty, it’s our favorite. All of our weddings with 50 guests or less are super heartfelt, relaxed, sincere. We’re excited to see this trend.

Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, get proper rest, exercise, do your skin care liesurely, whatever makes you feel and look beautiful. Come your wedding day, people will say you’re radiant and you’ll know for sure it’s true.

Look forward to foreveryday. Put on your favorite song and cheer up! You have foreveryday to look forward to, to spend with the love of your life with whom you are planning a wedding. It’s such a blessing to have your person at this time, someone who gets you, someone who’s committed to spend the rest of their lives with you, through waves of pandemic and whatever else humanity will go through. At the end of the day, you have each other, so you deserve this wedding, and you will get this wedding that you are dreaming of.

If you haven’t booked a date yet, book your 2021 wedding now! Couples who originally planned a 2020 date may be pushing back their wedding to 2021, so it’s best to act now and lock your 2021 date. Inquire and book your non-negotiables – your venue, photographer, videographer, planner, etc.

Everybody we talk with the past days have one hope – for all this to be over. While this is news we want to hear tomorrow, we need to do what we have to do while we’re waiting.

How do you cheer yourself up? We’re the type of people to wildly hope and dream. This crisis will be over before you know it. Your wedding will be here before you know it, and believe us when we say it’s going to be so worth the wait. In the meantime, surround yourself with people and things that help you keep your hopes up. We’re here for you, and we promise to share you positive and inspiring posts here in our website and across our social media channels.

More than anything, we know that things have changed. There’s been big shifts in people’s hearts and minds. We’re going to see mankind shift to a new normal that is more sincere, warmer, more intentional in pursuing things of greater value.

And we’re all here for it. #loveisimmune

TESTIMONIALS

The moment we got engaged, Bryan and I knew that we wanted our photos to be bright, light and of course, timeless! Foreveryday was already on top of the list of the major suppliers we needed to book. The night we met them, my heart was so happy knowing that we were in good hands! They didn’t only help us with our photos but also extended their help in choosing other suppliers. Such generous people!

I had the opportunity to work with Foreveryday team twice! Yes, that’s right, twice! They are the photographer of our dreams and we still wonder if their cameras were touched by fairy dust as their pictures were just magical!

We knew you were the one for us the moment we stumbled upon your IG profile! Thank you for capturing our silliest and happiest moments during our wedding. Kudos for turning our awkward poses to model-esque images!
